Merdanya Village
Merdanya is a village in Central Bulgaria, situated in the outskirts of the Old mountain, 16km away from Veliko Turnovo.
Merdanya is an old village. Evidence of it is found due to an cheological treasure, which is ponated in the school’s museum. The Roman road Via Vita used to pass through the village.

Cultural Amenities
Monastery “St. Fourty Martyrs”- The church was not painted at the beginning but after its restavration in 1982 it got a copletely new look. Some icons from the 19th century are preserved.
The Merdanya monastery of “St. Foutry Martyrs”- It was built in 13th century during the time of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, and was restavrated in the 19th century. Now it is an active lass monastery. The monastery complex is a monument of culture.
