Mindya Village
Mindya is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is located in Veliko Tarnovo District, 21 km from Veliko Turnovo and 18km from Elena, at the foot of Stara Planina, the right bank of the river Vesselina. The architecture is a typical renaissance, mainly from the period 1850-1900.
South of the village are preserved stretches of Roman road maintained by the Emperor Trojans, whose military capital Nicopolis-ad-Istrum is located about 50 km. north of the village, near Polikraishte.
Within a radius of 20 km there are 10 active monasteries- Kapinovski, Merdanski, Lyaskovski and many more.
Every year during the summer in the village take place Mindya Rock Fest - festival for rock and blues music, which is held annually since 2009.
The idea of the festival is to be different from the usual rock festivals, showing good coexistence of all different people and gradually building a balanced community.
