Vishovgrad Village
Vishovgrad is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Pavlikeni, district Veliko Turnovo.
According to a legend, near the village there was a monastery. During construction the wife of the builder used to bring him lunch every day. She was called Visshagerkinya. During one of her regular visits to the monastery her shadow was accidentally built into the walls. From this time the woman began to fade and not long after it- died. People who lived in this village named it after her- Vishovgrad.
In the land of the village have been found the remains of a Roman fortress (peak Chukata).
