Dolna Oryahovica City
Dolna Oryahovitsa is located on the left bank of the Yantra river near Gorna Oryahovitsa, Lyaskovets and Veliko Turnovo, at an altitude of 80 meters.
Dolna Oryakhovitsa is the heir of an old Slavonic settlement, which is known for its fertile land and vegetable gardens.The settlement was first mentioned in a firman decree in 1538. Dolna Oryakhovitsa is a large village with a population of 2830 inhabitants up until 1880. Many people left the small town and went to live and went to Gorna Oryahovitsa and Veliko Tarnovo.
There is a stone obelisk erected, near one of the churches, about 2 m high, with the inscription, which is a monument of a knight who died in the heart of today's settlement. On September 4th is the day of Dolna Oryakhovitsa which was proclaimed as a town in 1974.
