| Bulgaria to Boost Wine, Spirits Exports |

Bulgaria can expand its export potential on the wine and spirits market in Nordic countries, according to a media statement of the Ministry of Economy and Energy (MIET).
The press office of Bulgaria's Economy and Energy Ministry issued a press release in connection with the first-of-its-kind visit to Bulgaria of representatives of the five state-owned companies of Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands specializing in wine and spirits trade.
The meeting was organized at the initiative of Bulgaria's MIET.
The visit to Bulgaria is part of the corporate social responsibility program of the companies specializing in wine and spirits trade.
The Bulgarian participants in the meeting were Deputy Economy and Energy Minister Krasin Dimitrov and representatives of the Health Ministry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, and the Ministry of Environment and Water.
Dimitrov, as cited by MIET's press office, emphasized that Bulgaria was world famous for its great traditions in wine making.
He said that substantial investments had gone into the viticulture and wine sector in order to boost the quality of the production.
He noted that the Bulgarian government would keep encouraging the use of modern technologies in wine making.
Dimitrov assured the representatives of wine companies from the Nordic countries that Bulgarian producers were capable of meeting their high requirements and international standards for environmental protection, working conditions and observance of human rights.
He also made clear that a set of proposed changes to the State Enterprises Regulation Act also envisaged the application of corporate social responsibility measures.
The Deputy Economy and Energy Minister vowed that MIET would continue to encourage and support Bulgarian companies and organizations interested in the wine and spirits market in Nordic countries.
