The Samovodska charshia is the old market. In the 19 th century, when the town was developing, a shopping center developed with artisan workshops, bakeries and cafes. These days those places recreate the Renaissance atmosphere. There are, pottery, a carpenter’s shops and a weaving workshop and cutlery, tannery , where the artisans follow authentic technologies. During the 19 th century the famous inns were located there. The most popular among them was Hadji Nikoli Inn, which is nowadays the Ethnographic museum. These Somovodska charshia includes the monument and the museum house of the eminent writer Emilian Stanev and the monument of Stefan Stambolov who played an important role in the tBulgarian Liberation and who afterwards became Prime-minister of Bulgaria.
