A unique tourist attraction welcomes visitors at the mediaeval fortress near the village of Mezek (Svilengrad Municipality). For those who wonder what it was like to defend an empire a real size antique military camp was built amidst the ruins of the fortress. There are also more interesting activities provided for the guests of the historic site - paintball, archery, crossbow, lasso throwing and many more. There is also a picnic area with tables and chairs made of tree trunks.
The new tourist attraction was launched under a project of Svilengrad Municipality, funded by EU. Also part of the project is the improvement of the infrastructure of the ancient Thracian beehive tomb nearby. The archaeological artefacts, found during the excavations on the site are displayed in the tomb as holographic images.
