Bulgaria and Azerbaijan to develop mutual projects in tourism |
|
Bulgaria and Azerbaijan have desire to develop mutual projects for attracting tourists and for exchange of experience in the development of students and service personnel in hotel and restaurant industries. That was announced after a meeting of the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delian Dobrev and the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev.
‘Until the end of the year we can organize a visit by a group of Azerbaijani tour operators and media to familiarize themselves with the opportunities of the Bulgarian resorts. It will be useful that during the visit the Azerbaijani specialists will meet with representatives of the Bulgarian branch organizations in order to exchange good practices and to extend their contacts with colleagues from Bulgaria’, Minister Dobrev said.
Abulfaz Garayev proposed to exchange familiarization groups consisting of experts and showed interest towards offering of wellness and SPA services and routes for culture and gourmet tourism. Such opportunities have been discussed at a general level during the first participation of Bulgaria in the international tourist fair AITF 2012 in Baku in April.
At the moment Azerbaijan is building its first big winter resort located approximately 120 kilometers from Baku and is interested in Bulgarian experience in building mountain facilities - the expierience of instructors of the large ski centers such as Bansko, as an example. Another of their big government projects is the "Baku White City", which aims to transform the capital. Bulgarian firms can also take part as subcontractors of other big sites in Azerbaijan. If there is a good tourist interest there could be opened direct charter flights to Bulgarian seaside.
