| A bird watching alley opens in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia |

The first bird watching alley was opened in Sofia`s South Park (next to the begginig of Nishava str.) on July 7.
The Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds is the author of the idea, which aims to promote bird diversity in the Bulgarian capital. Earlier in 2012, residents of Sofia chose Great Tit for the bird-symbol of the city.
Sofia is the capital with the biggest bird diversity in Europe. Over 260 species live in the city and more than 65 of them could be seen in the South Park alone.
