| The Archaeological Season at Nikopolis ad Istrum starts |

On 18th July in the village Nikyup arrives British expedition led by Professor Poultar from the Nottingham University. It involves 39 students from various universities in Britain and 15 archaeologists and other specialists. The team's efforts will be concentrated, as in the previous season in 2010, to the study of late antique settlement in the area of Mihneva mound near the village of Dobri dyal. They will work with Dr. Ventsislav Dinchev from the National Archaeological Museum in Sofia, who is chief of the researching project. Mainly British students will work at the side, who will do their working experience for the university. The excavations in Nicopolis ad Istrum will continue until 20th August.
