6th of September – Unification Day of Bulgaria
On the 6th of September a military ritual for hoisting the national Bulgarian flag will take place in the Old Capital in front of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo starting at 10:30. The ritual will be followed by the festive speech of Daniel Panov - Mayor of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, as well as by a literary composition, dedicated to the Unification Day and performed by the graduates of Natural Sciences and Mathematics High School “Vasil Drumev”.
At 11:00, in front of Mother Bulgaria War Memorial the celebrations continue with a blessing, served by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Veliko Tarnovo and with a military ritual by laying wreaths and flowers as a sign of gratitude.
Starting at 11:15 on the Vasil Levski Street the Guard of Honour from the Vasil Levski National Military University will be passing by in a solemn march. At 21:30 the highlight of the night will be the audio-visual show “Sound and Light – Tsarevgrad Turnov” which can be watched from “Tsar Assen I” square in front of the Tsarevets Fortress.
Organizers of the event are Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, National Military University “Vasil Levski” and Veliko Tarnovo Holy Metropolis. |
