| Black Sea passenger water transport enjoys growing popularity |

More than 2100 passengers have travelled in Bulgarian Black Sea waters using the two vessels of the "comet" type launched this summer, specialist publication Maritime.bg reports.
After a break of more than 20 years, the service was restored with the active participation of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.
Between July 20 2011 and September 20 2011, 1858 adults and 298 children travelled along the two routes covered by the comets: Nessebur-Sozopol-Nessebur and Nessebur-Varna-Nessebur. The service is expected to grow in popularity and attract about 20 000 passengers every season.
The service is important for the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, combining into one fast transport and a great tourist attraction. For Port Varna EAD and Port Bourgas EAD, the passenger service generates revenues of 0.50 euro per adult and 0.25 euro per child and the ports also make money when the vessels are at anchor. Each comet has the capacity to transport 124 passengers.
