In November, Bulgaria is expected to issue the construction permit for the first section of the new Ruse–Veliko Tarnovo highway – a 40 km stretch between Ruse and Byala.
The full highway will be about 133 km long, connecting Northern and Southern Bulgaria, and serving as part of a major European transport corridor linking the Baltic, Black, and Aegean Seas.
Funded under the EU’s Transport Connectivity Program 2021–2027, the project aims to improve mobility, boost regional development, and strengthen connections between Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey.
