Transparency International will monitor the big infrastructure projects

The minister of regional development and public works Rosen Plevneliev and the executive director of Transparency International Bulgaria Ms. Diana Kovacheva signed a cooperation agreement.
Our goal is a better interaction for prevention and fight of corruption, raising of the public trust in the institutions and of the civil control over important infrastructure projects like Trakia highway.
This act is another clear message we are sending and my special commitment to transparency.
The work will start with Trakia highway with experts of the association participation as observers in the process of preparation of the tender papers and the evaluation commission.
We are starting with Trakia highway as this is an extremely important project we have been working on for a long time.
The practice shows that participation of citizens as observers brings good results and for such types of contracts this is obligatory. Spending of serious amounts of public funds should be done in a transparent way and under the civil control, said Ms. Kovacheva.
