Many people believe that countries which have the euro as their currency are expensive destinations, according to on travel expert, which may lead people to book property in Bulgaria, which uses the leva. Alistair Rowland, director of distribution at the Co-operative Travel, said there has been a growth in people travelling to stay in accommodation in mid-haul destinations, such as property in Bulgaria. He pointed out that one of the reasons why people are turning to destinations such as Bulgaria was that the euro exchange rate actually dipped below the pound at one point. Mr Rowland explained: "The issue generally around Europe right now is that it is expensive hence the growth in more mid-haul destinations." The expert's comments come after recent research conducted by Trivago revealed that the price of staying on commercial property in Bulgaria is now three per cent less expensive than it was this time last year. |
