Proposed New Flights Could Bring International Connections Closer to Veliko Tarnovo

Plans are progressing to introduce new passenger flights from Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport, offering improved travel connections for residents, visitors, and overseas property owners in the Veliko Tarnovo region.

Following a meeting between Mayor Nikolay Rashkov and Regional Governor Marin Bogomilov, discussions are continuing on launching new circular flight routes. The proposed services include:

Burgas – Gorna Oryahovitsa – Craiova (Romania)
Craiova – Gorna Oryahovitsa – Kavala (Greece)

If approved, these routes would significantly improve regional connectivity and position Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport as an important transport hub for Northern Bulgaria, supporting both tourism and business development.

Additional infrastructure projects are also underway, including the completion of the airport access bridge and a new bypass road, making travel to and from the airport even more convenient.

For international buyers considering a home near Veliko Tarnovo, these developments are encouraging news. Better air links would make the region easier to reach from neighbouring countries, while continued investment in transport infrastructure enhances the area's long-term appeal for both holiday homes and permanent living.
