A fully renovated municipal road now connects the villages of Resen and Nikyup near Veliko Tarnovo, making access to the area faster, safer, and more convenient for residents and property owners alike.
According to Mayor Daniel Panov, the road has been completely resurfaced as part of the municipality’s infrastructure investment programme. In addition to new asphalt, the project includes improved road shoulders, new safety barriers, updated road signs, and fresh road markings.
The renovation continues beyond Nikyup towards the main Ruse–Veliko Tarnovo road near the village of Krusheto, further improving regional connectivity and access to nearby towns and services.
Several other rural roads in the municipality have also recently been upgraded, including routes serving Nicopolis ad Istrum and the villages of Dichin, Rusalya, Vodoley, Plakovo, and Velchevo. More than 100 kilometres of additional rural roads have already been approved for major reconstruction through 2028 under Bulgaria’s national investment programme.
For overseas buyers looking for village property near Veliko Tarnovo, these infrastructure improvements are particularly important. Better roads increase year-round accessibility, reduce travel times to the city, and enhance the long-term appeal and value of rural homes in the region. Villages such as Resen and Nikyup are increasingly attractive to international buyers seeking peaceful countryside living with reliable transport connections, historic surroundings, and easy access to one of Bulgaria’s most popular heritage cities. |
