| How a village near Veliko Tarnovo became a magnet for young people |

In the village of Shemshevo, near Veliko Tarnovo, there are no longer any houses or plots available for sale. The settlement has developed into a preferred destination for young families, thanks to its active sports and cultural life. The kindergarten currently has 26 children enrolled, and a preschool group is planned to open next year.
The village has good transport connections to the city and is equipped with sports facilities and playgrounds. A number of projects have been implemented, the latest focusing on the modernization of the community center and the creation of a digital studio. The local pensioners’ club is also active.
The main challenges remain the need for street repairs and concerns about possible water shortages. The introduction of the euro, however, does not raise worries—local shops already display prices in both leva and euros. |
