A whole week of holidays in Gorna Oryahovitsa

This year's numerous events for the feast of Gorna Oryahovitsa, which is celebrated on May 29, will begin two days earlier.

On May 27, at 10:00 a.m., the celebrations will begin with the opening of the Craft Trade Alley, located at the central Georgi Izmirliev Square. Unique products and handicrafts, workshops, board games and also performances by street musicians will delight visitors.
On this day, the participants in the 23rd International Plein Air "Zivopisitara", which is organized by the Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa and the "GoArt" Association, also begin to create.
In addition to the visiting artists, the talented children of Gorna Oryahovitsa will also participate this year. School clubs that develop this gift in their graduates are invited. The result of the plein air will be shown in an exhibition dedicated to the feast of Gorna Oryahovitsa.
In the evening of the same day, a concert begins for the residents and guests of the city with the participation of magnificent performers from Gorna Oryahovitsa such as Steliyana Hristova - the first winner of "The Voice of Bulgaria", ballet "Kalina", the attractive acrobats Nikolovi brothers.
Music connoisseurs will also be able to enjoy the violins of the ladies' quartet "Intro". The host of the evening will be the popular TV personality Drago Draganov.

May 28 for Gorna Oryahovitsa is a Day of worship and tribute to the heroes of the April epic in the First Revolutionary District, centered on Gorna Oryahovitsa.
"On the road to unexpected freedom" is the name of the reenactment, which will be presented from 18.00 that day, in the central square. The performance is the work of the Gorna Oryahovitsa Historical Museum, with the participation of the "Georgi Izmirliev" Secondary School and the "Happy Childhood" Kindergarten. In addition, historical information panels will be displayed on the square.
148 years since the hanging of Georgi Izmirliev - the Macedonian, will be marked with a Ceremonial inspection-dawn, starting at 9:00 p.m. The ceremony was attended by Vasil Levski National University.

The festive May 29 is the Open Day for the History Museum, and from 10.00 am everyone will be able to visit it and view the unique collections. In the courtyard of the museum, guests will have the opportunity to transport themselves to the past, through a Retro photo with the appropriate retro costumes.
A solemn prayer for the health, well-being and prosperity of the residents of Gorna Oryahovitsa and the settlements will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin.
At noon in the "Nedyalko Karaneshev" art gallery, an exhibition with the works created within the framework of the "Zivopistira" art plein air will be opened. Citizens will be able to visit the exposition for free in the following days of the month.
The ceremonial session of the Municipal Council - Gorna Oryahovitsa begins at 5:00 p.m. in Hall 1 of the Municipality. On it, prizes and distinctions will be awarded to the citizens of Gorna Oryahovitsa who have made a contribution in various spheres of public life. A ritual of raising the flag of Gorna Oryahovitsa will be held an hour later.
In the evening, at 19.00, a big holiday concert will start on the square. The special participation in it is the artists and performers of 7/8 TV and "Ku-Ku Band" - Georgi Milchev-Goji, Kamen Vodenicharov, Krasi Radkov, Nevena Tsoneva, Boris Soltariyski, Yordan Yonchev-Gamzata, "Magadans" ballet.
The festive concert will also feature "Trio Kaba Gaidi", as well as "Grazia" Ballet, "Graffiti" Vocal Ensemble, "Orenda" Vocal Formation.

Throughout the next day, the medieval fortress "Ryakhovets" will welcome visitors in a kind of open day. Residents and guests of Gorna Oryahovitsa will be able to view the finds from the latest excavations.

On the morning of May 31, the prestigious National Dance Competition "Dance Carousel" will begin at the "Napreduk - 1869" National Theater.

This year, the celebration of the city's holiday precedes the program of the traditional Gornooryahovsky sudzhuk festival.
The culinary assembly will be opened on May 31, Friday.
The young people from the Veliko Tarnovo Wind Orchestra "Junior Band" and cheerleading band "Bulgarche" from Gorna Oryahovitsa will give a start. The program will continue to the sounds of Bulgarian folklore with the participation of local ensembles. The guest performers on the first night of the holiday are Nikolay Slaveev and the sisters Maria and Magdalena Filatovi. A fun children's show starts precisely at 10:00 a.m. on the First of June, again near the Summer Theater. The leader of the entertainment for the little ones will be the musician Iskren Petsov. From 12:00 p.m., the rest of the events within the celebration will also begin. Games, raffles, craft workshops and culinary delights will continuously pique the interest of visitors.
The stars of "Hell's Kitchen" chef Tsarina Tsaneva and chef Ivaylo Ivanov will cook for the guests of this year's edition of the Feast. The two chefs, who are from Gorna Oryahovitsa, have proven their skills on the TV screen and will demonstrate them live. Folk songs, pop and rock performances will alternate on the open stage throughout the day. The concert of the talented Pepi Hristozova - one of the leading names of the new generation of folk singers - starts at 7:30 p.m. After her performance, the stage will be conquered by the exceptional talents from Gorna Oryahovitsa - the "Graffiti" vocal ensemble under the "Napreduk-1869"Community center.
The big star in the program on June 1 is Lyubo Kirov. He takes the stage at the Summer Theater of Gorna Oryahovitsa at 9:30 p.m. Concerts with various performers continue as early as 9:00 a.m. the next day. The official closing of the Festival is at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 2.
