The Bulgarian "Cultural Reforms" Movement Begins a Series of Cultural Policy Forums
Tuesday, Jun 19, 2018
The "Culture Reforms" Movement, established last month, invites to its first forums for critical monitoring of cultural policies in Bulgaria.

The event will be held this Saturday, June 16th, at Limakom Hall in Plovdiv (154 Maritsa Blvd.).

This is the first of a series of events aimed at discussing cultural policies and, with the help of experts, drafting proposals for the development of individual sectors.

On May 24, a group of adherents - famous and well-known names contributing to the different spheres of Bulgarian culture - announced the creation of a civil movement for cultural reforms.

They are convinced that such reforms are necessary and ambition to help develop a strategic vision of the role of culture, to outline urgent steps towards legislative initiatives and a national strategy.

Their first forum will be opened on Saturday at 10 o'clock by Prof. Alexander Kyosev, who will present an overview of the state of Bulgarian culture and cultural policies.

The program then provides a talk on "Plovdiv and the Capitals of Culture. What will not happen in 2019? "

There will also be two papers: "Bulgaria - Isolation Continues" (for the state of Performing Arts) and "Absent Policies and Contemporary Art as Indulgences".

In the afternoon hours on Saturday, there are two "round tables": "Cultural Policies and Educational Policies. First steps towards a strategic vision for their unification "and for cultural policies in the field of cultural heritage.
