| Record high number of pink flamingos at Studen Kladenetz Dam |

| Record high for Bulgaria number of the pink flamingo bird species has been established at the Studen Kladenetz Dam in the Rhodope Mountain. A total of 53 birds have been spotted in the area, most of them young. Those have been registered by a team of the New Thracian Gold Foundation. This is yet another visit of pink flamingos in the East RhodopeMountain, but their number is that high for a first time ever. The Kirkini and Porto Lagos lakes in Greece are the closest destinations, inhabited by the exotic birds. |
