| The floating Kristo's piers will be installed in Bourgas |

The floating piers of Lake Izeo in Italy will be installed in Bourgas. Part of the art installation on world famous artist with bulgarian roots Hristo Yavashev- Kristo will be transladet to Black sea.
The piers will be installed in the sea in front of yacht club "Port Bourgas". The pontoon will be made of special 50/50 cm polythene cubes.
The cubes have already been bought and delieverd by port Bourgas EAD and it will be installed on water in the coming days.
Curious detail is that the pontoons are part of Hristo Yavashev's floating craft, "Floating piers", presented in 2016 on Lake Izeo in Italy. This time they will not be part of a spatial artistic work, but will serve the coaches and boats during the hosting of European Championship class "Optimist" - IODA 2017, which will take place in Bourgas in the period 30.07 - 06.08 2017.
The preparation for prestigios regatta, hosted by yacht club "Port Bourgas" is in full swing. 275 competitors from 45 countries are enrolled to participate. There are people from USA, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, New Zaeland, Hong Kong, China and many others. Over 85 accompanies the coaches and drivers.
The European Championship for Îptimist 2017 is the next big championship organized by Yacht Club "Port Bourgas" for the last ten years, with which the city is becoming a leading destination for organizing various international regattas. In 2015, the European Junior Sailing Championship class 420 and 470, the European Championship for Surfers in the RSX Class, was held in Burgas in 2015. In 2007, the city hosted the Youth Class 470 World Championship. For the past few years, "Port Bourgas" EAD has been constantly investing resources to improve the quality of the sailing base in the Marina. |
