Bulgarians Who Pay by Card to Pay Lower Taxes

With the latest amendments to the Personal Incomes Taxation Act that are effective since January 1st, 2017, the Bulgarians who receive all of their incomes in a bank account and spend at least eighty percent on the money via online and bank card payments, are entitled to a tax refund of BGN 500 at most.

Those who prefer the electronic means of payment will take advantage of the tax alleviation in 2018 for the first time.

Those, who file their annual tax reports online are entitled to an extra 5% refund. However, as of 2017 this refund cannot exceed BGN 1,000.
