Bulgaria and Iran's agriculture ministers have formalized the beginning of honey exports to the Islamic Republic, the Bulgarian cabinet says.
The country's Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva, who is on a visit to Iran as part of an official delegation, has formally announced the step at a meeting with counterpart Mahmoud Hodjati.
Taneva is quoted as asking Hodjati for assistance to speed up procedures that will allow Bulgaria to export poultry and dairy products to the country, to the benefit of "businesses on both sides".
Hodjati for his part, after being invited to a reciprocal visit to Bulgaria, has stressed the need for a joint memorandum of cooperation to settle a number of issues in the agriculture sector.
Bilateral trade turnover in agriculture rose sharply in the last few years, from USD 3.139 M in 2013 to USD 52 M in 2015. |
