New project for the registration of British citizens in Bulgaria is starting in Veliko Tarnovo
Wednesday, Mar 16, 2016
New project for the registration of British citizens living in Bulgaria is starting from Veliko Tarnovo. The project is a joint initiative of British Embassy and Bulgarian Migration Directorate. The conception was presented during a forum in Veliko Tarnovo, which was opened by the Mayor Daniel Panov and UK`s ambassador Emma Hopkins. The project aims to ease the application and the obtaining of residence permit for British citizens in Bulgaria.
Essentially, the concept plans to unify both the procedures and the translations of the documents in all Municipalities. All rights and duties of foreign citizens will be explained by brochures. A handbook with clear instructions about the procedures will be published, too. All the materials will be available both in digital and print version.
The Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo`s Municipality – Daniel Panov greeted the initiators of the new project. According to the Mayor this is a step, which will ease the Municipalities in the processes of finding the property owners, who`s properties are ruining and not maintained. This will also help for collecting taxes.
Daniel Panov shared with the ambassador Hopkins that Bulgaria and Veliko Tarnovo continue to be attractive for British citizens. He suggested that the Embassy and community should join actively during the upcoming International exhibition of “Cultural tourism”, which will be held in April this year.
