Bulgaria’s Gabrovo most active beneficiary under OP Regional Development 2007-2013: Development minister

“In this 7-year period Gabrovo has been the most active, most persistent beneficiary with the highest number of successfully realised projects. Gabrovo has not missed an opportunity and there is no priority axis of OP Regional Development 2007-2013, under which it does not have a successfully realised project,” said Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova, speaking during her visit to district centre Gabrovo, North Central Bulgaria, the press centre of the ministry announced.
Ms Pavlova attended a final conference on an integrated project for an attractive, accessible, and green urban environment in Gabrovo realised under OP Regional Development 2007-2013.
She noted the investments in the municipality under this programme only amounted to BGN 35 million, the press centre of the ministry announced.
Lilyana Pavlova pointed out as of January 1, 2016 the national programme for energy efficiency would be open to all kinds of buildings meeting the definition of multi-family buildings, irrespective of the number of homes and the type of construction.
The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works announced Gabrovo would be able to invest in renovation of public transport in the new programme period under Regions in Growth 2014-2020.
According to Pavlova, the authorities have not given up and efforts to complete the bypass of Gabrovo and build a tunnel under the Shipka Pass continue.
