Bulgaria among best destinations for business, investments
Monday, Nov 23, 2015
Bulgarian Minister of Economy Bozhidar Lukarski attended an investment forum in China’s Shanghai organised by the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), the press service of the Government announced.
Over 100 Chinese companies took part in the forum.
According to Lukarski, Bulgaria’s tax system combined with the qualified workforce and the lowest operating expenses in Europe rank the country among the best destinations for business and investments.
The minister stated the conducted investment policy envisaged special measures to encourage investors in line with the Investment Promotion Act – sped-up administrative services, acquisition of state-owned or municipality-owned properties under eased conditions; financing the building of the needed infrastructure; financial support for training staff and partial repayment of the obligatory social insurance contributions as well as a package of measures stimulating priority investment projects on the part of the government.
“We would like to invite Chinese companies interested in the EU markets to establish their representation offices, logistics bases, production capacities, and development centres in our country. We hope the Chinese authorities will encourage Chinese companies to make investments in Bulgaria,” Lukarski pointed out.
He expressed his opinion of the activity of Chinese firms, such as Great Wall Motors Company, Tianjin State Farms Agribusiness Group Company, Huawei, and others, in Bulgaria and voiced his certainty their examples would be followed by other Chinese companies.
Bozhidar Lukarski assured Bulgaria was willing to lend support to the future projects of Chinese companies in it.
According to him, the promising sectors include machine building, electronics and electrical engineering, information and communication technologies, agriculture, the food industry, and the establishment of industrial zones and high-tech parks.
In Lukarski’s view, potential in the trade relations with China is yet to be fully exploited.
