| Europe's Oldest Stone House' Excavated in Bulgaria |

| Bulgarian archeologists have found what may be prehistoric Europe's largest stone building at a Paleolithic and Neolithic settlement site, Archeology in Bulgaria reports , citing Bulgarian public broadcaster BNT. Located on an island in a lagoon called Durankulak Lake, in the northeastern corner of Bulgaria, the site was first excavated in the 1970s, and has yielded finds dating back to 10,000 B.C. The most recent discovery is a roughly 7,500-year-old building of 200 square meters, or possibly even double that, if archeologists show that it was two-floored. |
