European Court of Justice Head: New EU Members Best Apply Block's Law |

The newly accepted EU member states apply the block's law system even better than the older ones, the President of the European Court of Justice, Vassilios Skouris, said Monday.
The statement was made during Mr. Skouris' meeting with Bulgaria's Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev, held soon after the Justice Court President arrived for an official visit to to the country at the invitation of the Chair of Bulgaria's Supreme Cassation Court, Lazar Gruev.
"The cooperation between the Bulgarian judges and their EU colleagues is very important factor for the development of the block's law and for the implementation of the European law norms," Mr. Skouris said.
On his part, Premier Stanishev emphasized on the fact that there are no proceedings, instituted against Bulgaria over failing to fulfill some of its duties related to the EU directives.
"Bulgaria is to launch an Internet site, where all the cases, referred to the European Court of Justice will be described," he explained.
Mr. Skouris welcomed the initiative and said it is an extremely good practice, which is positively received throughout the European Union.
