Bulgaria to Have Tourist Information Centre in Tokyo
Tuesday, May 12, 2015
Following a meeting between Bulgarian Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova and Kihachiro Nishiura, President and Representative Director of Japan-Southeast Europe Business Association (JSEEBA) on Monday, it emerged that Bulgaria will have a tourist information centre in Tokyo.

Angelkova and Nishiura concluded an agreement for the opening, organisation and provision of a Bulgarian tourist information centre in Tokyo, the ministry's press service informs.

The expenses on the opening and the provision of the tourist information centre as well as its foreseen activities will be all met by JSEEBA.

The Tourism Ministry committed itself to providing up-to-date promotional materials on Bulgaria, which will be distributed in the tourist centre in Tokyo.

By concluding the agreement, the two sides declared their intention for lasting partnership and cooperation in the realisation and fulfillment of different activities.

These activities will be related to tourism and the popularisation of Bulgaria as a tourist destination in Japan.

Last year Bulgaria was visited by more than 12 000 Japanese citizens, which was an increase of nearly 7 % compared to 2013, an evidence of the heightened interest towards the country.

The existence of a tourist information centre will improve the availability of information, with the expectations being that this would lead to an increase in the number of Japanese visitors to Bulgaria.
