| Bulgaria completes first motorway |

As of today, the distance between Sofia and Burgas across Southern Bulgaria, will take motorists just three hours to cover. This has become possible after the last section of the Trakiya Motorway was officially unveiled. The motorway connects Sofia with the Black Sea. The 360-km motorway, part of Pan-European Transport Corridor VIII, has been finished and the dream of a few generations of travelers has become reality. This is the first fully completed motorway in this country. Construction began back in 1971 and took more than four decades. The motorway was one of the priorities of the former government and an occasion for ribbon-cutting by the PM, the president and EU commissioners.
