By 2007 the number of consumer credits represented 13% of GDP. After Bulgaria on this index are only Croatia and Romania with 23.5% and 14.9% respectively. Bulgaria is in the so called "first wave" of countries in which mortgage crediting is quite developed, BGNES writes. The fact that they can rely on a bank credit makes around 4% of Bulgarian households plan the purchase of a new property in the next three years, despite the constant increase in the prices of this market. And yet, on this index Bulgaria is not among the first - most optimistic are the Romanians, where 11% of households consider buying real estate in the near future. Most modest about a new property are Ukrainians - only 2% of households expect to have a new home in 3 years time. |
