Foreign Investments in Bulgaria to Reach EUR 2 B in 2011

"It is quite realistic to expect that the foreign investments in Bulgaria reach 2 billion euro in 2011," Borislav Stefanov, executive director of the InvestBulgaria agency stated for Darik radio.
But this forecast will prove true if only an increase of the investments in the sectors of finance, real estates and trade are registered. Otherwise, the foreign investments will total to 1-1.5 billion euro, Mr Stefanov explained further. In his opinion, in order that the foreign investments get increased, Bulgaria should work on two directions - marketing and administration.
"Bulgaria needs marketing as the image of Bulgaria is not very popular worldwide. In the far destinations as China Asia-Pacific ocean region and the USA, Bulgaria is just an unknown country and is not of the places which appear in the minds of investors who consider future expansions of their businesses. The second important direction and condition is the decrease of bureaucracy and corruption.
