Sofia, December 30 (BTA) - Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency (NRA) has met its 2010 plan target and has contributed 11,900 million leva to the public purse, NRA Executive Director Krassimir Stefanov told journalists on Thursday.
Since the beginning of the year, 3.1 million individuals and company representatives have visited the NRA offices. Until the end of November, the Agency received and processed 70 million submissions (corporation tax returns, personal income tax returns, VAT documents and social insurance documents) and 30 million employment contracts and issued over 700,000 certificates of absence of liabilities for tax and social insurance contributions.
Until the end of November, the NRA Sales Departments received more than 2,000 case files on written statements on confiscation, forfeiture or abandonment of assets to the Exchequer. Public sales brought in proceeds totalling 7,540,114 leva, 111 per cent of the 2010 plan target.
By orders of the Minister of Finance, 55 motor vehicles manufactured after 1998 were provided to public-financed organizations for gratuitous use. Forty-two of these vehicles cost an aggregate 713,659.57 leva. The state administration was thus able to save more than 1 million leva on the acquisition of such assets.
Until the end of November, the NRA collected 24,435,712.63 leva in private state receivables. These receipts represent 225.94 per cent of the revenues planned for 2010.
Until November 30, the Agency collected 2,234 million leva in overdue taxes and social insurance contributions.
Auctions conducted by public enforcement agents resulted in proceeds of nearly 111 million leva by November 30, which were credited to the public receivables accounts.
Until the end of November, the revenue authorities of the Control Directorate conducted a total of 210,484 checks, including 116,378 offset and refund checks, as well as 12,000 audits. A total of 2,100 million leva in extra revenue were identified. The average amount of extra revenue identified per auditor was 1.75 million leva, over 30 per cent more than in 2009. The direct fiscal effect of the completed audits is 37 million leva, equivalent to some 130,000 average monthly pensions, the NRA reports.
These actions are having a disciplining effect: in November the declared taxable amount of VAT-taxable supplies increased by 1,700 million leva, year on year, from 13,500 million leva in 2009 to 15,200 million leva in 2010. November was also the month with the highest declared taxable amount of all months in 2010. Compared to October 2009, trade turnovers increased by 1,000 million leva. November saw a record year-on-year growth of trade turnovers.
In 2010, the NRA saved companies and individuals a total of 47.5 million leva as a result of simplified procedures, a smaller number of payment orders for payment of taxes and social insurance contributions and electronic services, Stefanov also said. BTA |
