Busy Season Ahead for Burgas Airport on Bulgaria’s Black Sea Coast
Wednesday, Jun 04, 2008
With the beginning of the tourist season at the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, the Burgas Airport braces itself for a busy summer.
High numbers of charter flights will connect Burgas to Tel Aviv, Prague and Moscow. A record number of 587 flights from Israel’s capital are expected, while the Czech capital holds first place with the most – 768, flights anticipated by the Burgas airport.
Russian tourists are also flocking to Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, with 388 flights from Moscow expected for this season.
Regular routes will also commence in addition to the charter flights. The Irish national carrier Aer Lingus starts flights to Burgas on June 11, to accommodate Irish tourists and property investors. The flights from Dublin will take place twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Burgas Airport is the airline’s first scheduled flight destination in Bulgaria.
“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers another new popular holiday destination which compliments our existing extensive schedule. We believe the Bulgarian resort will prove particularly popular with families and holiday-makers alike,” Enda Corneille, Aer Lingus Corporate Affairs Director said in a press release.
