Russian tourists have again been most frequent international holidaymakers passing through Varna airport in the summer of 2010, Bulgarian media reported on August 9 2010.
A total of 653 384 tourists went through the airport during the first seven months of 2010, a 1.18 per cent decrease year-on-year overall. The number of Russian, Austrian, Polish, and Belarus nationals, however, all marked an increase from last year.
The airport's busiest day so far this summer was July 30 when 113 flights and nearly 16 000 passengers were processed.
According to official data released by Varna airport authorities, the most popular destinations in July were Moscow, Sofia, St Petersburg and Düsseldorf.
Flights are operated to a total of 17 destinations from Varna airport for the summer of 2010, including Sofia, London, Vienna, Budapest, Moscow, Rostov on Don, St Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Odessa, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Oslo, Warsaw, Brussels, Luxembourg and Kishinev. |
