Plachkovci City
The town of Plachkovtsi is located in Sredna Stara Planina, about 7 km from the town of Tryavna and 22.5 km from the town of Gabrovo. The altitude of the city is 560 m. The peaks Bulgarka (1445 m above sea level), Bedecite (Big Bedek is 1488 m above sea level), Mahchenitsa (1042 m) and others rise above the town. The three rivers: Stoevska Reka, Radevska Reka and Neykovska Reka meet in Plachkovtsi and mark the beginning of the Tryavna River.
Due to its good infrastructure, Plachkovtsi is a convenient starting point for a walk in the Tryavna Mountain, which is part of the Bulgarka Nature Park. In the area of Plachkovtsi there are two natural protected areas - "Mahchenitsa-Yovovtsi" above the village of Yovovtsi and "Vikanata skala" at Bulgarka peak, which are part of the nature park.
The mountainous region, the clean air and the beautiful places contribute to the town of Plachkovtsi becoming a favorite place for tourism and holidays. And this has been since the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In the area of the city there are many family hotels and guest houses.
